Eva turned a month old on the 12th. I'm glad that this first few weeks are behind us. I've had lots of postpartum problems and I'm glad to hopefully be well on the road to recovery. I go back for a check up next Tuesday, not quite 6 weeks.
Eva weighs 10 pounds and 2 ounces and nurses around the clock. she's been 3 months clothes for a couple of weeks and I just had o move her shoulder straps on her car seat. I wish I could say we are on some sort of eating and sleeping achedule but we're not. She nurses about every 2 hours and despite going to sleep on her own a few times around 2 to 3 weeks of age she now doesn't think that is too great of an idea.
She's started giving up grins and miles and a few coos among he grunts. She does fairly well in the car which is good since church, shopping, and Nana's are 45 minutes one way.
Her siblings are still smitten with her and love to look after her and hold her. The new favorite is to rock her. She's lost most of the hair on the of of her head. I do hope it ones back brown. Since childhood I've always envisioned having a brunette daughter. : )
Summer is in full swing and it's crazy and unstructured and driving me nuts. All Jeremy's kids have been here since he end of May. Despite my greatest attempts our summer is not being productive like I wanted.
I am the first to admit my failures with following a schedule and holding to consistency. I've whined about it for years and in all honesty I think I just want someone else to do it for me. I'm terrible at homeschooling. I lack vision and patience. It seems like we've been struggling with the same things for years and I doubt my abilities to do this. Having my children's education rest on my shoulders is a heavy load.
(Maggie wrote this on our board. Translation : Maggie is sorry for being mean. I asked her what she did and she said it was for all the times she was mean.)
I want new curriculum or a new method or something to be the answer to my problems. But the answer isn't in new books or new methods. It's in me being consistent and living out my days purposely. I hope one day I can look back on this time in my life and wonder why I waited so long to change. : ) Any seasoned homeschool mamas have any Godly advice or encouragement?
